Reading Beauty’s Book
Wednesday, 9 September 2009
This is the latest in the Wall Book project. The image is a composite of two scans of yellow roses and of a lace curtain. I did a great deal of shifting transparency and changing color to come to this. I then printed the image on Stonehenge paper that had been coated with acrylic medium, white acrylic paint, and InkAid.
The image was sewn, pamphlet style with a series of luscious, purchased papers, one of which I bordered with small cream-colored beads. The whole “book” was attached to a backboard and inserted into a box I had made to fit a frame. Reading Beauty’s book is protected by non-reflective glass.
